The City Different – a Gripping Political Crime Novel by Alexander Wisniewski with a Southwest Backdrop of Murders

December 05 18:16 2018

Las Vegas. NV – December 5, 2018 – Like other small cities, Santa Fe is known for its share of murders, and it has captured the fascination of many thrill seekers and those into sleuthing. The City Different, a political crime in the southwest genre novel written by Alexander Wisniewski capitalizes on that realism of the southwest. The book is now available on Amazon and other online retail book stores.

From 1979 going through the 1980s, there are many unsolved cases of murders in and around Santa Fe. Alexander Wisniewski loosely based the novel upon these cases and he had spun a flirtatious resolution to the crimes. This creates a connection for the readers of The City Different particularly to those in the intriguing, unsolved murder cases of the southwest.

The City Different’s story revolves around the unsolved murders of a priest and female tourists. It’s also surrounded by Santa Fe’s cultural and social values, the people and its other intrinsic ethos. That makes this novel even more exciting and encompassing.

The story gets nail-biting in The City Different when the cruel murder of a priest is ensued by a string of murders of female tourists. While the cases are being solved by the police, the female homicide detective and the district attorney assigned fall in love with each other. The plot thickens with the hunger for power by a separatist supported by a corrupt state senator. The novel is given a completion by the presence of a middle-aged businessman and an elder – they form the conscience of Santa Fe NM and opens in the history of the place.

Alexander Wisniewski has written The City Different in a straightforward yet subtle and sensitive way. Several depictions in the novel are based upon actual crimes and recounts of actual occurrences that once took place in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The book stands out as it has a focus on the southwest and the history, cultural insights and the social background of Santa Fe and the northern part of the state – something very few crime novels have as a supporting subject.

The writing of The City Different is a testimony of Alexander Wisniewski’s passion for including place establishments usually overlooked by novelists.

He quotes: “The more I know, the more I know how much I do not know.”
